Maria Valencia is a sophomore Radio/Television/Film and Anthropology major at Northwestern University, originally from Cali, Colombia.
A passionate writer and content creator, she is involved in both on and off-campus clubs and activities related to literature, philosophy, filmmaking, fashion and social media influencing. She is part of different on-campus publications such as Sherman Ave, STITCH and Helicon. She is a writer for The Blackout, Northwestern's late night comedy show, the programming co-chair of Multicultural Filmmaker's Collective, a student run production company, and the secretary of Women in Philosophy.
Maria Valencia has created a platform for self-expression with her style blog, due to which she has been contacted by brands and online stores such as Tobi, shopspring.com, MakeSpace and Eventbrite amongst others to collaborate on social media marketing projects. This has allowed her to understand her social media presence as not only an exploration of personal style and aesthetics, but as a medium to learn about branding and marketing strategies.
